An America-based optometry forum seeking more international users has launched an iPhone and iPad application for its service.
ODwire.org (www.odwire.org) is the largest optical forum in the USA and Canada, with more than 13,000 users. The team behind the online community is trying to boost its international member numbers and encourage practitioners around the globe to share their knowledge, and social, political and educational experiences of the sector.
Optometrist and founder Paul Farkas, told OT: “US optometrists are interested in improving optometry worldwide to gain the same education and legal status that has been accomplished in the USA. Sharing experiences can help in this goal.”
UK practitioners joining the forum can view the latest optometric news and events, as well as comment on the ‘State of Optometry’, ‘Optometric Economics’ and ‘Ethics’. The site also has a dedicated clinical and research section where optometrists can develop their diagnostic and therapeutic knowledge.
