Bausch & Lomb Academy expands to Europe

Bausch & Lomb’s Academy of Vision Care will expand throughout Europe, the contact lens giant has revealed.

The web-based learning resource – www.academyofvisioncare.co.uk – was re-launched this month and provides practitioners with online continuous education and professional development through videos, pod casts and print.

A new ‘My Academy’ tool on the website allows users to tailor the site to their own personal education requirements and record all their CET in one place.

Cheryl Donnelly, medical affairs manager for EMEA Vision Care, commented: “At Bausch & Lomb we are extremely proud to provide our customers with a high quality generic education. The Academy of Vision Care is part of a long-term commitment by Bausch & Lomb to be the trusted partner in providing accredited continuous education and professional development.

“By providing our customers with a web-based tool with high quality and the ability to define their own learning preferences, we can offer the most relevant information and resources to the individual practitioners’’ need and interest.”

The website was initially introduced in the UK last year.

This will help optometrists in Africa who can hardly find a place to do post-graduate training to upgrade their knowledge and improve the services they provide to their patients.
